Dr Kamil Zwolski<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Kamil Zwolski is Jean Monnet Professor of European Security<\/strong> and Director of the Centre for Comprehensive European Security<\/strong> at the University of Southampton. He is Associate Professor in International Politics<\/strong>, and Senior Associate Fellow<\/strong> at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI<\/strong>). He is known for his expertise in European and international security. In addition to his research leadership, Dr. Zwolski is a passionate teacher recognized as a National Teaching Fellow<\/strong> and a Senior Fellow of Advance HE<\/strong>, reflecting his commitment to excellence in higher education.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr William Allen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A comparative political scientist studying how and why people engage with information about political issues, particularly conveyed through media, and what this means for broader politics and policymaking. Substantively, his focus on migration and migrant integration in Europe and Latin America\u2014issues that continue to animate politics in both regions. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Professor Chris Armstrong<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A political theorist who primarily works on issues at the intersection of global justice and the environment. Particular interests include the biodiversity crisis, the politics of the ocean, animal ethics, and natural resources and territorial rights. He has published 6 books (including with Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, and Yale University Press), and over 50 articles. He has held fellowships from the Economic and Social Research Council, The British Academy, and the Leverhulme Trust. He has also written for The Guardian<\/em> and the London Review of Books<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Professor John Denham<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Professorial Research Fellow in the Department of Politics and International Relations and Director of the Centre for English Identity and Politics<\/a>. \u2018Over the past twenty years national identities in England have gained a new political salience, being reflected in elections and the EU referendum. His interests lie in the nature of this link, the formation of identities and in the governance of England and England\u2019s place within the UK.\u2019 <\/em> He was Labour MP for Southampton Itchen (1992-2015) and served as a Minister (1997-2003 and 2007-2010). His final Ministerial role was as Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. He chaired the Home Affairs Select Committee from 2003 \u2013 2007).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Professor Christian Enemark<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Professor of International Relations in the School of Economic, Social and Political Sciences at the University of Southampton. His research and teaching interests include global health politics, international security, arms control, and the ethics of war. Christian has published numerous scholarly articles and chapters, and he is the sole author of four books: Disease and Security<\/em> (2007), Armed Drones and the Ethics of War<\/em> (2013), Biosecurity Dilemmas<\/em> (2017), and Moralities of Drone Violence<\/em> (2023).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr Ingi Iusmen<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An Associate Professor in Governance and Policy at the University of Southampton (PAIR). Ingi\u2019s research tackles key questions about European public policy, protection of children\u2019s rights, human rights and minority protection, unaccompanied migrant children, child refugees and migration more generally. Ingi specialises in three areas: (1) public policy, (2) human rights protection, including minority protection and (3) children\u2019s rights and refugee studies. Her most recent project used participatory methodology and produced a policy report (with Jana Kreppner and India Cook) titled \u201cTrauma-Informing the Asylum Process. Guidelines and Recommendations Co-Developed with Young People Seeking Asylum\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Professor Jason Reifler<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In August 2024, he started a new position as Professor of Political Science at the University of Southampton. He was previously Professor of Political Science at the University of Exeter. He received his PhD from Duke University.  Prior to grad school, he spent four years in Washington, DC working for the polling firm Bennett, Petts, and Blumenthal. When he is not doing political science, he spends time playing with his family, cooking, making terrible noises on a guitar, or watching his favourite sports teams.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Katerina Glyniadaki<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Lecturer in Public Policy and Administration based in the department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Southampton. Her research interests centre around the implementation of public policies, particularly of policies relating to issues of migration and gender. She is concerned with questions relating to the identities of today\u2019s diverse policy implementers and their discretionary decisions which shape policy outcomes. She uses qualitative research methods and interdisciplinary, comparative approaches. Her work contributes to the field of public administration and the subfields of street-level bureaucracy and representative bureaucracy. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Lala Muradova<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr Lala Muradova (PhD, 2021) is a political scientist and Associate Professor in Political Psychology at the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Southampton. In 2023, she was a British Academy Visiting Scholar at the Centre for the Politics of Feelings, University of London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining Southampton, Dr Lala Muradova was a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Comparative Politics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona (2022-2023), and a postdoctoral researcher (2021-2022) at Dublin City University (DCU) on a H2020 project focusing a comparative study of the potential of participatory institutions to address the challenges of liberal representative democracies. Lala has also held visiting positions at Nuffield College, University of Oxford (2018), University of Temple (2020) and University of Canberra (2021), among others. Her research on public support for military intervention and economic sanctions against authoritarian regimes (here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0here<\/a>) and public support for peace (here<\/a>) is especially relevant for the centre research interests.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
