Bibliography and Sources

See here for references to all sources used throughout the project, as well as suggestions for further exploration. I was inspired by many other brilliant digital humanities projects, which are linked below – lots to do with Austen, but others cover a broad range of topics.

I compiled the database using a range of sources and drawing on extensive previous scholarship about Austen in translation. Below are the articles, books, and websites that have informed the project’s construction and direction, as well as links to a large number of national library catalogues, from which I sourced much of the data.

But firstly, massive thanks must go to all of the Austen specialists, translations studies experts, and everyone who kindly contributed their suggestions and information for the project. Thank you to Silja Adalsteinsdottir, Jeanne Barangé, Maria Clara Pivato Biajoli, Chiara Codecà, Isobel Grundy, Saihong Li, Marie-Laure Massei-Chamayou, Tatjana Šepić, Hatsuyo Shimazaki, Marie Nedregotten Sørbø, Cinthia García Soria, Julia Vallasek, and Sandra Guardini Teixeira Vasconcelos.
